and Lutheran Church in Singapore (LCS)

Items for MAY 2025 – YCCL and LCS

Thank you all for your prayers. Let us continue to be one in prayer for our congregations as well as for the LCS, under which we are one church.

Please cover YCCL and LCS in the Prayers of the Church, as well as in your Prayer Meetings and small group meetings. Do encourage your members to pray for them during their family or personal prayer times.

Pastors have the option to cover the items summarily, in a single Sunday or over any number of Sundays for the month. Pastors should also feel free to contact each other for more details and clarifications regarding the items listed, so as to pray with better understanding.

Apologies for this month’s late issue of One in Prayer, which we seek to send out within the first week of every month. Thank you all for your help and prayers.

Prayer pointers for YCCL / YCCL祷告事项

English Section

  1. We praise God for the 40th anniversary of YCCL. Pray for the preparations under way for the 40th anniversary celebrations that all the young and old will commemorate God’s goodness and faithfulness in our midst and raise the next generation of church leaders for the next 40 years.
  2. Pray for the NextGen Youth Ministry that as they embark on a monthly Table Talk on equipping for prayer, evangelism and study of God’s Word. That the youths will have their passion ignited for God. Uphold the Café Night outreach on 5 July that their invited pre-believing guests will hear and respond to the gospel.
  3. We thank God for the Befrienders’ Training on 11 May conducted by Preacher Allan Ng and Ms Diana Ho. Pray for the hospitality to be levelled up so that Church befrienders and all members will do their part to make newcomers and visitors feel at home in YCCL. Also pray for God to raise up more harvesters to reap the harvest in the Yishun Community as they go out to befriend and share the gospel with the residents.

Chinese Section

  1. Prayer for the Collaboration between Pastors and Deacons:

Pray that the Lord will grant a spirit of unity so that pastors and deacons may support one another in ministry, work together with one heart and mind, fulfill their respective duties, and faithfully serve as good stewards of God’s manifold grace. Also ask the Lord to grant them wisdom and love from above, so that in every decision, they may reflect God’s righteousness and mercy.

  1. Prayer for Church Ministries:

Ask the Lord to strengthen the church’s existing ministries, including Sunday School, youth/teen ministries, small groups, visitation and care ministries. May each act of service be done with a thankful heart, willingly offering the grace and gifts God has given them to be a blessing to others. Also pray that God will move more brothers and sisters to actively participate in service, so that in building one another up, they may experience Christ’s love and unity. Pray also for those participating in the “Blessing Group Evangelism Workshop,” that God would grant them hearts of eagerness and humility — not only to learn evangelism strategies, but to be inspired by Christ’s love to become witnesses of the gospel in action. Pray for God to raise up workers to proclaim the gospel in their families, workplaces, and communities.

  1. Prayer for the 40th Anniversary and August Evangelism & Spiritual Renewal Meeting

Give thanks to God for leading the church through 40 years of His gracious journey with us. Pray that God would guide the planning of the anniversary celebration, so that everyone may reflect on His faithfulness and embrace the future mission with thanksgiving and commitment.
Also pray for the “Evangelism and Spiritual Renewal Meeting” in August — that the Lord would prepare the message of the speaker, move hearts, strengthen the faith of the brothers and sisters, and draw seekers to the Lord.

Dialect Section

1. Praise be to God for Rev. David Ng and his 20 years of dedicated service with our

YCCL Dialect Service, from May 2005 to May 2025.

2. We pray for the approximately 30 active leaders(some from English section) who volunteer to support our ministry, with Rev. Ng as the only staff member for our Dialect Service.

3. We thank God for our average attendance of 120 on the first Sunday of each month, when we have communion, and 110 on other Sundays.

  1. 我们为 YCCL 成立40周年感谢神。请为正在筹备的40周年庆典祷告，愿所有年长与年轻的弟兄姐妹一同纪念神在我们当中所施的恩典与信实，并兴起新一代的教会领袖，引领教会迈向下一个四十年。
  2. 请为NextGen青年事工祷告。当他们开始每月的“圆桌谈话”，装备自己在祷告、传福音和研读神的话语上，愿他们对神的热情被点燃。也求神保守7月5日举行的“咖啡之夜”布道活动，愿受邀的慕道朋友能听见福音，并作出回应。
  3. 我们感谢神，赐下5月11日由吴传道与何美娟主讲的“关怀陪伴者训练”。请为教会在接待事工上的提升祷告，愿关怀陪伴者和所有会友都能尽力让新朋友和访客在YCCL感受到家的温暖。也求神兴起更多收割的工人，去到义顺社区与居民建立关系，传扬福音，收割庄稼。

  1. 为牧者与执事们的同工配搭祷告

愿主赐下合一的心，使牧者与执事们在服事中彼此扶持、同心合一，各尽其职，忠心作神百般恩赐的好管家。也求主赐下从上而来的智慧与爱心，使他们在各种决策中彰显神的公义与怜悯。

  1. 教会事工祷告

求主坚固教会现有的事工，包括主日学、青/少年、小组、关怀探访。使每一个服事都带着感恩的心，将神在他们生命中所赐的恩典与恩赐，甘心乐意地被神来使用，成为众人的祝福。也求神感动更多弟兄姐妹，积极参与服事，在彼此建造中经历基督的爱与合一。为参与「幸福小组-研习会」的弟兄姐妹祷告，求神赐下渴慕与谦卑的心，不仅学习传福音的方式与策略，更在当中被基督的爱激励，在行动中成为福音的见证人。愿主兴起工人，在家庭、职场、社区中，传扬福音。

  1. 40周年及8月份布道陪灵会祷告

感恩神带领教会走过40年的恩典之路。求神预备庆典各项安排，使众人回顾神的信实，并以感恩与委身迎接将来的使命。

也求主为8月份的布道陪灵会动工，预备讲员的信息，感动人心，坚固弟兄姐妹们的信心，也吸引慕道者归向主。

方言部

    1. 感谢赞美主，黄大伟牧师在YCCL方言事工忠心服事20年（2005年5月至2025年5月）。
    2. 请为我们方言事工中约30位积极参与服事的义工领袖祷告，目前只有黄牧师是全职同工。
    3. 我们感谢神，每个月首个主日（圣餐主日）平均有120人出席，其余主日平均出席人数为110人。

Prayer Pointers for LCS

1. Pray for the coming ExCo election.

Please pray for the 29th AGM’s ExCo election on 24th May, pray that God will prepare a group of dedicated and God-fearing people to be elected into the ExCo, including the Bishop, Secretary, Treasurer, both Chinese and English Clergy rep and Lay rep, and that they will be able to work together in one accord.

Pray that the election will be a smooth process and the whole proceedings of the AGM can be carried out smoothly.

2. Pray for our NextGen Lutheran Internship Program.

We give thanks to God for a team of dedicated and committed clergies and Lay persons who helped to plan and organise this program for our youth and young adults. Our aim is to raise up a group of young leaders in LCS.

Therefore, please pray that God will move the heart of our young people to sign up for this program. And pray that this program will benefit our next generation leaders.

3. Pray for the properties transfer to the LCS.

Thanks be to God; the SLA has reissued the title deeds to the trustees of the missionary association to its correct name. Our lawyer has received the title deeds. These are still in the midst of transferring to the LCS’ trustees.

Please pray that SLA will accept LCS as the beneficiary so that we are able to proceed with the transfer.

 

4. Give thanks and pray for our Pastors

We give thanks to our good shepherd who sacrificed his life to redeem us. We also give thanks to the faithful service and sacrifice of the pastors among us, whether retired or still in service. We are deeply grateful for the gifts our pastors received from the congregations on Pastors’ Sunday. Pastors have the joy of satisfaction in their service, but they also inevitably encounter various difficulties and challenges. They need the prayers and encouragement of brothers and sisters.

Please remember and support the ministry of pastors in your prayers.

 

2025年五月新加坡信义会的代祷事项

1. 请为即将到来的执行委员会选举祷告

请为在2025年5月24日于LCS第29届年议会（AGM）上举行的执行委员会（ExCo）选举祷告，求神预备一群敬畏神并愿意委身服侍的人进入执委会，包括会督、文书、财政、中英文牧职代表及平信徒代表。愿他们能在圣灵的引导下同心合一地事奉。请为着选举的过程能顺利进行，以及整个年议会的进程能流畅的完成。

2. 请为“下一代信义会领袖实习生计划”祷告

我们为一群忠心和委身的牧者及平信徒感恩，他们为我们的青年及青成年人共同策划和组织这个计划，旨在培养LCS的年轻领袖。因此，恳求上帝感动我们年轻人的心来报名参加这个项目。也祷告这个项目能造福我们的下一代领袖。

3. 请为教会产业转移祷告

感谢上帝，新加坡土地管理局（SLA）已将地契重新签发给宣教士行政委员会信托人，并以正确的名称登记。我们的律师已收到地契。

这些地契仍在转移给LCS受托人的进程中。请为SLA能接受LCS为受益人祷告，以便我们能够继续进行地契转移。

4.为教牧们感恩及代祷

我们为着为了救赎我们而牺牲自己性命的我们的好牧人献上感恩。我们也为在我们当中，无论是退休了或在任的牧者们，忠心的服侍及摆上献上感谢。我们为教牧们在教牧主日收到堂会的礼物深表感激。教牧们在事奉的当中有满足的喜乐，但也难免遇到各种难处及挑战，他们需要弟兄姐妹的代祷与鼓励。请在祷告中纪念并支持牧者们的服事。
